Emotional Support Animal Information
An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) is a companion animal that offers comfort and emotional support to individuals with mental health or psychiatric disabilities. Unlike service animals, ESAs are not trained to perform specific tasks; however, their companionship can significantly alleviate symptoms associated with conditions such as anxiety, depression, or PTSD. ESAs may be of any species and do not require specialized training. To validate the need for an ESA, individuals may obtain a letter from a licensed mental health professional.
Therapy Dog Training: $500
Therapy dogs and their handlers offer comfort and support in any environment where therapy dogs are permitted, including hospitals, nursing homes, and other care facilities. These dogs are trained to demonstrate basic obedience and execute specialized commands designed to provide emotional relief to those in need.
Training your dog to become a certified Therapy Dog is a profoundly rewarding experience. Upon completion of the training program, your dog will undergo evaluation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen certification, administered by Amanda Lepper.

Psychiatric/Mobility Service Dog Training: $1,000
Payment Plans Available
A psychiatric service dog is a highly trained service animal that supports individuals with psychiatric disabilities. These dogs are specifically trained to execute tasks that assist in managing symptoms associated with conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health disorders. Unlike emotional support animals, psychiatric service dogs perform work-related tasks that directly alleviate the impact of a disability.
Psychiatric service dogs undergo extensive training to carry out tasks tailored to the handler’s unique needs. These tasks may include:
- Retrieving medication
- Providing deep pressure therapy
- Interrupting self-harming behaviors
- Guiding the handler through stressful environments
A mobility service dog is a specially trained canine that assists individuals with physical disabilities, particularly those affecting mobility. These dogs are trained to support their handlers with daily activities, thereby enhancing their independence.
Mobility service dogs can be trained to perform a variety of tasks, including:
- Providing balance and stability while walking or standing
- Picking up and carrying objects beyond reach
- Retrieving dropped items
- Pulling wheelchairs to facilitate movement
- Opening and closing doors and drawers
- Operating light switches
- Pressing elevator buttons
- Alerting others in the event of a fall
